January 8-March 12
*This class is open to those who have completed storytelling 1-4 (or by special permission of the instructor) To celebrate our fifth class together we will create our own play to perform! With the help of our resident playwright Dave Hudson, student will put together a small script that they will rehearse, and perform!
Adventures in Theatre
January 9-March 13
This class is open to children who are trying theatre for the first time AND those who are seasoned veterans of the stage! With fun and exciting theatre games, students learn the basics of creative dramatics and explore theatre concepts through acting out stories and plays. Students will work with costumes, props and even makeup as we explore the wonderful world of theatre together. A small production will be performed at the end of this ten week class.
A Play a Day
January 10-March 14
Students will take a quick bow as they put on a mini play every class. Each week students will receive a script, be cast in a role, learn blocking and maybe even put on a costume piece or two. The only thing we will not have is an audience. This class is an opportunity to explore putting on production without the added pressure of getting it “performance ready.” This is all about FUN!
Beginning Musical Theatre - Footloose Fun!
January 13-March 17
We will cut loose as we create our own mini musical based on a brand new book rewritten for children by the one and only Kenny Loggins. A zookeeper named Jack joins the zoo animals in an all-night dance party. Participants in the class will be cast as characters, including the rockin' chimp Louise, Mister DJ Elephant, the lemur Marie Milo the wombat, Luke the funkiest cat in the zoo, and so many more. This new original story is sure to get everyone feeling footloose!
