        The Actors Garden is excited that we are able to now offer the ability to pay for classes electronically.  All you will need to do is sign up for a Google checkout account (with any existing email account, gmail or otherwise).

        Tiny Tuneful Tales (ages 3-5)
        This class is a miniature version of our tuneful tales class offered on Saturdays.  This program will focus on telling and acting out stories through song, creative movement, rhythms and dance. This class will encourage students to engage their imaginations and sense of dramatic play as they learn about music and theatre. This class will also build skills in listening, story-telling, body awareness, and creative expression.

        This program will focus on telling and acting out stories through song, creative movement and theatrical improvisation. This class will encourage students to engage their imaginations and sense of dramatic play as they learn about theatre.         Theatre Fun (Ages 4-6)
        Even the youngest of students can get in on the fun! Theater games and storytelling exercises will help students gain confidence on the stage. We will work with props and music and familiar stories to add to the enjoyment.

        Introduction to Theatre (ages 5-7)
        With fun and exciting theatre games, students will learn the basics of creative dramatics as they are introduced to the wonderful world of theater. Through engaging in the art of story theatre students will get a chance to create a new character each week.

        Adventures in Theatre (ages 7-10)
        This class is open to those who are trying theatre for the first time and those who are ripe old veterans of the stage!  With fun and exciting theatre games, students will learn the basics of creative dramatics and explore all theatre concepts through acting out stories and plays. Students will work with costumes, props and even makeup as we explore the wonderful world of theatre together. Students will also put on a small production at the end of their ten week class.

        Scene Study (ages 10-15)
        In this session of Scene Study students will work on a condensed production. This class is the perfect opportunity for those looking to work on something small scale. It is a great class taught by Rose Hopkins. It is for students who want to get a taste for performing and it is a wonderful class for students to learn how to dig deeper into a character. We will have a showcase performance of their short play on the final class.

        Improvisation for the Stage (ages 10-14)
        Meredith Melville brings years of Improvisation experience to The Actors Garden. This class is for those ready to take on a fun challenge. Improvisation is a great way for actors to learn how to always be in the moment, ready to react and ready to commit to a character. With loads of fun improvisation games, this class is a great way to polish your acting skills.

        The Choreography Project
        This class is open to new and returning students…Bob Fosse, Tommy Tune, Jerome Robbins-these names are synonymous with musical theatre choreography.  Students will not only learn about these legends in the theatre, they will also learn how to dance in the style of these gifted artists.  Join our own gifted musical theatre artist Angie Wendt for a great class that will get you moving.

        Introducing Shakespeare! (Ages 10-14)
        Interested in Shakespeare, but afraid of his language?  This new class will help shake your fears! In this class students will learn all about the Bard, how to interpret his cryptic works and even learn about traditions of the Elizabethan theatre. And no Actors Garden class would be complete without the fun so there will be plenty of theatre games as well! The class will culminate in a performance of scenes on the final night of class from one of Shakespeare’s greatest works, A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

        Musical Theatre I - The Audition (ages 10-14)
        What a great way to prepare for any upcoming shows or camp you may be considering!! Students will gain confidence in their audition skills and will find that right piece to showcase their talents.  This class will not only equip students with that perfect song but will also help them develop it into an impressive audition piece and help the actor get noticed!  Students will have the opportunity to showcase their audition song in our final class.

        Musical Theatre II - The Audition (ages 14-18)
        This class is specifically for students who plan to regularly audition for musical theatre, and will focus primarily on the singing portion of auditions. We will discuss how to create a well-rounded audition book, select and prepare audition song cuts, communicate with accompanists, and tailor auditions to specific shows/roles. During this ten week course student will also work on two pieces (a ballad and an up-tempo) and will have an opportunity to showcase these songs in our final class.

        Auditioning for Theatre-The Monologue and Call Back (ages 14-18)
        Land that part! The best and most experienced actors still struggle with the all-important audition. This class will offer you advice and insider tips on how to deliver the best audition possible. We will focus on selecting and performing monologues, cold readings, callbacks and even a bit of advice on what to wear and how to conduct yourself at an audition from start to finish.
